Wood flooring re-use/nail removal?

We have just pulled out 1000 sf of t %26amp; G oak flooring from a house being demolished. It was nailed in during the 50's, hand-nailed, large, heavy ';cut nails.'; The nails were pulled out intact with the floor.


We're planning to re-lay the floor in a house we're renovating, and looking for a way to get the nails out of the tongues without damaging the wood strips. Pulling them back through the tongues would damage the wood. Any good way to clip or grind the nails off?Wood flooring re-use/nail removal?
Use a set of electricians linemans pliers to cut the heads off, %26amp; pull the nails out in the direction they were driven in.Wood flooring re-use/nail removal?
That was my answer too. Cut the heads off and pull them through. A lot of work but you are saving a ton of money on the flooring. Good luck
I would use a Dremel with a cutting blade. Cut them as close to the wood as possible and pull them out with needle nose pliers. A lot of work, but the old growth oak will be wonderful.
