Acrylic nail removal?

What are some of the steps a manicurist does to remove sculpted acrylic nails?Acrylic nail removal?
Well in the salon they have done 2 ways of removing

them. Well that I know of because I saw them do it on me.

1. They pour acetone on your nails, loosens them up and

the get like a white tip and begin to get it under the nail

from the side, believe me it doesnt hurt. Sounds like it does

but it really doesnt.

2.They use clippers and cut it in half with what nail is out or

is long over your finger, and then it normally cracks down

the middle so its really easy for the nail to come off.

3. Or just soak them in acetone for a long time.Acrylic nail removal?
Basically, what they do is the first soak your nail in some kind of alcohol not sure what then they use a little gadget to slide across your nail and it comes right off and it doesn't hurt too bad!!!
dont soak them in nail polish remover. soak them in pure acetone, it will remove them faster.
Soak nails in Nail polish remover that contains acetone. They will start to melt then you can peel them off easily.
soak them in acetone.

How do you remove fake nails?Removal of Fake Nails?
go to cvs or any other drug store...next to the makeup section there should be a section all for nail stuff, like glue ons and clippers and manicure sets and stuff...there you can get bottles that say artificial nail removal...read the instructions carefullyRemoval of Fake Nails?
Nail polish w/ACETONE. The old fashioned strong kind. Loosens them off. Take emery board and file away ';left behinds';..do not polish nail for about 2wks so they can rest. At this time ';nourish'; the nails w/ creams. Then think was it worth the $30 bucks??
You can fill up the sink with hot water, and add some nail polish remover. Soak your fingers until you can easily take off the nails. Hope it helps!!
soak your finger tips in acetone polish remover

Removal of Acrylic Nails?

I recently had my acrylic nails removed but not all of it was removed. I find myself picking at my nails to get the remainder of it off. Have also tried buffing the remainder. If I keep picking my nails then my nails will never grow out. Any suggestions to have clean nails again?Removal of Acrylic Nails?
Soak in acetone nail polish remover. But it might be safest to go back to the salon and ask them politely but sternly to help you remove the rest. They should have taken care of that in the first place. Then after this, be sure to always protect your nails as they will be super thin after having acrylic removed. Coat them daily with a strenghtening nail polish. Removal of Acrylic Nails?
If you paid for that service then I would go back and ask them to remove the rest of it.

You can soak them yourself in pure acetone.
Asitone with take them off.

Acrylic nail removal?

hey i have acrylics andim soo sik of them i can type or do anything an i keep hitting them on things and it hurts so much

i know they can be removed by soaking them in nail polish remover

but is there a way i can do it without soaking??

any suggestionsAcrylic nail removal?
I've tried soaking them off myself and even with acetone you need to break the acrylic off. Go back to where you were getting them infilled, they can get it off properly and painlessly. They may or may not charge you. Acrylic nail removal?
Go to a nail salon. Soaking them yourself will take so long and can hurt. Plus your natural nails are going to be so thin and weak, you can really hurt yourself trying to rip them off. Ask the salon to give you a manicure with strenthening polishes to cover the damaged nail beds and to help fortify what's left. It's not going to be cheap, but it'll be worth it.
NOP.... I HAVE TO BUT PURE ACETONE U CAN GET IT FOR LIKE $2 OR $3,,,,,, IN A BEAUTY SALON.... DONT TAKE THEM OFF WITH YOUR TEETH THEY GOONA HURT AND DAMAGE YOUR NAIL..

WELL ITS ALL UP 2 YOU

Acrylic nail removal...?

For my junior prom, I got acryllic nails. When it came time to take them off, I did it at home. Needless to say, it wasn't a fun experience.

My senior prom was a couple weeks ago, so I decided to get acrylic nails again (probably not the smartest idea). They're starting to look really bad and I want to get them off.

Would you suggest doing it at home again or should I just spend the money and go back to the place to get them professionally removed?Acrylic nail removal...?
go to the salon, i must say..

it is not only uncomfortable at home plus u may do some serious damage to ur nail enamel in the process, also apply a good nail repair treatment for a while, like nail tek, coz using acrylic can make ur nails soft and brittle over a prolonged period of time..Acrylic nail removal...?
the pain hurts so bad. So, I would just go to the salon, and get them taken off. That happened to me. I'm never taking them off by myself again.
Definitely let them do it the shop, they're professionals.
Either spend the money or take a lot of time and soak them in non-acetone nail polish remover and GO SLOW about removing them. Also, you can simply cut them very short and file them down with an emery board to help removal go a little quicker.

So I got acrylic nails a couple weeks ago. but i want them off. but I have no nail place near my area. So I have to do it at home. Everyone says use acetone but I cant use it. So is there anyway you can remove them without acetone or ripping them off??? Thanks.Acrylic nail removal???
well i once had acrylics and i decided it would be a good idea to remove toe nail polish. low and behold my acrylics melted off. so i suggest you use fingernail polish remover. just soak them and every five minutes swipe the gummy melted stuff of and keep this up until it dies. :/Acrylic nail removal???
Thank you for the help. and to everyone else who continue telling me to use acetone. If you look in my description i CANNOT use it. i have allergic reactions to anything with acetone in it. but anyways thank you for the help. I appreciate it. And yes, i got them off. =]

You really need to cut them back as far as possible and then soak them off in acetone. Is there any reason why you can't use acetone? Its not very expensive - you can buy it from any chemist/pharmacy.

Nails look really nice when they are maintained but they are terrible to try to removal.......if you can afford it maybe go back to the salon you had them put on and ask if they can remove for you.

    Good luck!

Nope....You have to use Acetone, because it 'softens' the nail...You can get acetone just about anywhere, Walmart, Beauty Supply, grocery store.

    Acrylic nail removal?

What is the best way to remove acrylic nails at home without damaging the nail too much?Acrylic nail removal?
Soak them in pure acetone for 30-40 minutes. Then gently scrape the softened acrylic off with an orange stick, or a paper towel. If it doesn't all come off the first try, soak for another 5-10 minutes, and scrape some more. Be gentle, and do not force the nails off. This will cause damage to your natural nails. If you have a UV topcoat applied over the acrylic, then simply use a nail file to remove the thin layer of UV gel. Gel files easily, and it won't take much effort to remove it. If you don't do this, then your nails won't come off very easily because UV nail gels are non-porous and are resistant to acetone and other solvents.Acrylic nail removal?
The best way to remove the nail is by steeping them in acetone and rubbing them now and then with a cotton bud to help remove the acrylic. This does take ages but is by far the best way to do it so as not to damage the nail plate too much.
buy pure acetone (cheap in the nail care aisle) and soak them for 10-20 minutes. most of the acrylic will disolve and the tips will come off fairly easy. if you have uv nails, you will need to file off the top layer before soaking.
soak it in nail polish remover or go to the salon and get them taken off

    Acrylic nail removal?

Salon person pryed off acrylic nails and now I am more pain than after childbirth! What can or should I do to treat my frail nails. Is it too soon for polish?Acrylic nail removal?
lots of vitamin e. don't polish unless it's nourishingAcrylic nail removal?
i had acrilics and my nails would bend like crazy i would suggest just to be carful because they peal off like crazy and creak if they get long....i bet you can see when your sails grow how they are so much thicker. You just have to wait for it to grow all out i would say it might be soon for polish but in a week or 2 it should probably be ok, they will still be frail but it should be fine. Insted of prying your nails off with acetone. It makes your fingers really dry but its a lot less painfull. It just makes the acrylic like mush in some spots and then you just take a credit card or something and get under them and they slide right off most of the time...if some still stick then you can put them back in but it doesnt hurt that bad to peal them off if they are soked first...i dont think theres any limit to how much you soak your nails but the more you soak them the more dry your fingers are and its a very weird feeling.

Dont have them pry them off anymore. Its way to painful and you can pick up acetone at your local walgreens or proabaly even walmart. Hope your nails get stronger and you feel better! :-)
    ouch

for future refrence, go ahead and heat up a little bit of pure acetone in a bowl... dont put it in the microwave, put very hot water in a big bowl then place a smaller bowl of acetone inside the lager bowl, this will warm it up

soak your nails for some time taking your fingers out and wiping some off every 10 minutes or so until it's all off. this way it wont hurt

i'd pass on the nail polish for now, that might hurt more
I would file suite. That can cause un reparable damage to the nail beds.

You should leave them natural for 2- 3 months until all visible damage grows out.

Massage the nails and cuticle area with vit E, and oils to promote growth. Buff the nails as soon as it is comfortable to increase circulation.

Take xtra Biotin or increase your multi vits
I wouldn't put polish on them until there are completely healed. You can put vitamin E on it daily to increase the healing speed. You nails need tender loving care. The next time you get acrylic nails do let anyone do this to you. There are supposed to be soaked off with pure acetone.
Go to your store, and buy sally hansen hard as nail wrapes. it makes your nails stronger, you can get them in diff. colors, i got mine in white, works amazing!
I do nails, you need to let your nails breath, don't put polish on them, wait a week.... what a dumb dumb, there are many other ways to take off acrylic nails, sorry for your pain.
Ouch, that does hurt. I wouldn't put nail polish on yet, too many chemicals for sensitive nailbeds. Just stick your fingers in warm water, it should help the pain.

Mirror Removal - Stuck with 'No-Nails'?

Hiya, I'm redecorating one of the bedrooms at the house we're about to move to, and the donut who lived there previously (my dad!) in his wisdome has stuck a mirror (no frame just a big round glass mirror) direct to the wall (over wallpaper) with no nails, any idea's on how to remove it minimising the risk of shattering the mirror?

Thanks in advance.Mirror Removal - Stuck with 'No-Nails'?
Go to the hardware and get a few feet of ';piano wire';. Slip the wire behind the mirror and GENTLY saw back and pull the wire down. If it's stuck on wallpaper the only thing your going to lose is the wallpaper and maybe a little wall damage.

Be sure and put tape all over the mirror (to hold the pieces in case it breaks) and please wear safety glasses and gloves.Mirror Removal - Stuck with 'No-Nails'?
Not much chance, but you could cover the entire mirror in Duck tape or similar to hold it together should it shatter. And ideally you want protective footwear because a heavy glass piece could go through your foot.
horible stuff that is , you will not get it off, sorry xx

    After removal of gel nails....?

after you removed your gel nails were your real nails all damaged? Mine are cracking and missing layers- they look terrible! i don't know if i should go back to the place i got them done and complain or if this is what is expected after you get gels removed. thanksAfter removal of gel nails....?
That's what happened to my nails!

I was basically ashamed of my nails after the gel nails came off.

There were a lot of layers missing. Hopefully, you're like me and your hair and nails grow fast. Within a month, maybe even sooner, you'll have all the layers back.

You'll be able to tell how fast your nails are growing when they actually start growing because you can feel a bump, or an indent, right where the new layers are coming in behind the missing layers.

It feels kind of cool but doesn't look too good.

You can paint your nails and it'll take away from the missing layers.

I didn't go back because I figured they couldnt do anything about it except give me more gel nails and I knew that was a horrible idea at the moment =)

Good luck! After removal of gel nails....?
    Yep, it's gonna happen!

In a few weeks they will look fine..but for a quick fix, file them and use a buffer to smooth them out and put your fav. nail color on them and you shouldn't notice much if anything at all.
Yes that's normal, it happens to me everytime I take my gel nails off. I would suggest in the future to go back and get them soaked off rather than ripping them off yourself. That way you won't lose as many layers, but the nail will still be weak. Just get a good nail strengthening treatment, buff down the nail, and apply the treatment regularly. Good luck!

    Removal of false nails!?

hi there, does anyone know a way of removing false nails without damaging my own nails underneath?!Removal of false nails!?
Hi. Just about everyone has said for you to soak them in acetone and that's what you are supposed to do. I have done this many times and it does take some time. Anytime you have acrylic or any type of fake nails put on it is always going to do some damage to your natural nails..just part of it. But pour some acetone(you can find it at any beauty supply store and probably just about any place that sells nail products) into a glass or plastic bowl..don't use metal, and soak them for about ten minutes and then use a really coarse nail file and scrape the acrylic off that has softened. (It will have like a gummy consistency)You will have to just keep repeating these two steps because more than likely they are not just going to fall off by soaking them. It takes some time and the acetone is going to cause the skin that is exposed to it to look and feel very dry because it takes the natural oils out of your skin, but it will be ok. Just use plenty of lotion when you are finished. I am not patient when I take mine off..sometimes I go to a nail salon and let them do it..most charge 5 to 10 dollars to remove them. But when I do mine, I use the metal file that is on most nail clippers and gently get it under the fake nail if you can and it will cause an air pocket and I just slowly lift the fake nail off with the file. It's not the most pleasant experience but it's the quickest. Before you take them off, try to find one of those square nail files that has four sides...one for filing the nail edge, one for removing ridges from nails, one for smoothing the surface and the other to make your nails shine. These files are wonderful. It says on the file which is which and they are numbered in the order to use them. I use the side for removing ridges to remove any excess glue...your natural nails are going to look pretty bad at first...then I use the side that smoothes the surface..then I use the last one to make nails shine. After you do this, put some clear nail polish on and you'll be amazed at how much better your nails look. You can find plenty different nail products to put on your nails to strengthen them and get them back into good shape. Just use these products as directed and if you don't have fake nails put back on your nails will grow out and become healthy again. I've never known anyone to have a set of nails put on and not have some damage to the natural nail. Sorry for such a long answer but I hope it helps you. Good luck!Removal of false nails!?
    rip em' off hah jk
soak in acetone nail polish remover...they will soften up and come off.
    Hi,

from experience I found out it is better to go back to the salon where you had them done and they will soak them off for you.

When you do them yourself you really damage your own nails.

At the salon they can buff them and smooth your nails after they are removed. They will add nail hardner and you should wait a week to re-do your nails because fake nails thin your own nails.
If they are all acrylic then acetone is the best way. Soak let them get real gooy and then pat them dry a bit and file the gooy stuff off. If they have a gel top coat make sure you file this off because if not you will be there forever. Also if they are gel nails you need to drill them offf.
i find warm salty water really works well....leave them to soak in it for 10 mins then they should peel off really easy....works for me every time!
Soak them in warm acetone for about 30 mins and just keep rubbing. It is going to take some time, but that is the only way to take them off unless you go to a nail salon.
Yep sure just get a nail filer and start to go around the fake nail.
    acetone
When i wear fake nails i use nail remover..what you do is soak your nails in it for like 5 to 10 minutes..they should come right off...
The best way is to get an acetone nail polish remover and sit for 30 minutes to an hour while watching tv and soak your nails. They will come off on there own in the acetone. Dont pick them too much or they will definitely cause more damage to your nails. My nails were totally and completely ruined when I took off my acrylics. It was awful! Make sure immediately after you take them off you cut your nails and go to a professional salon for a manicure. Good luck!
hello, yes i know how u go about removing false nails. u need to get some acetone nail polish remover %26amp; then put some in a rock glass so that when u put your hands in it that it covers your nails completely. then u need to put a towel over the hand that's in soaking for about 15 minutes before u take that hand out. then u need to remove the liquid on your nails with a cuticle pusher right away before it hardens again %26amp; then keep repeating this until all of that product is removed from your nails. this will take some time for u to do by yourself. also your real nails will be damaged some because of the product that was put on your real nails. my advice to you is to go to a nail salon %26amp; have them do this for you. it's not expensive %26amp; if u go back to the salon that put them on you to begin with they won't be upset at all. when a salon does this they put your hands in a dish that has acetone polish remover but it heats up %26amp; that makes the process happen much faster. so that's my advice to you for this question. good luck, nobrethequeen p.s. i'm a nail tech also
Buy some Kwik Off (Shoppers Drug Mart). It's a sponge soaked in solution in a container. Your put your finger in the hole in the sponge and twist it a few times. This will remove the nail and any polish on it. Once your fake nails are off, rub some pure coconut oil or olive oil, or lotion over your cuticles and nails and give them a couple days of being polish free.
OHH! You too! I hate false nails, well you get a bowl of hot water (very hot, but it shouldn't burn you!) And soak for about 30min (watch tv while your at it) Then slowly take them off (if still tight and glued to you finger, then 30min more!) When you get them off and glue is still left, take a filer and rub it off!
soak them in acetone for about 30 minutes, rub them, soak some more, and keep rubbing until they are all the way off
You have to use Acetone....I don`t wear fake nails but I did try them and they ruined my real nails, they thinned them terribly I had to start all over growing my nails.
You could soak them in Acetone, but it's really bad for your skin. Truly, it is the only non-painful way of doing it though.
soak your nails in an acetone solution (this is what most nail varnish remover is made from) then they should fall right off. You can buy special solutions to soak them off from most salon suppliers or large chemists.
I don't like putting fake nails on my nails...it annoys me...sorry can't help you.
Soak them in nail varnish remover, make sure it's NOT the acetone free stuff though.

It should take 20 -30 minutes %26amp; they'll dissolve %26amp; drop off, don't ever yank them off you can do all kinds of damage to your own nails
No, I dont think that is possible. When the nail was glued on and then the acrylic applied, it sealed your nail. Now you are basically going to rip it off. Soak them first, it makes the talk a little easier. (remover with acetone).
honestly i don't think that acetone works very well, in fact i think that your nails will always be affected after applying nails
yup acetone Is the only way !
Acetone (pure) is the best way. Soak your nails in the acetone. You will have to be patient, if you warm a pan of water and then put the bowl of acetone in the warm water it will make it go faster. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT directly heat acetone. Use an orangewood stick to slowly scrape the acrylic off your nails. Give yourself a good manicure and apply clear polish. Your nails may be a little soft for a few hours but will harden back up quickly. Good luck, please don't rip them off. Take your time and your natural nails will look great.

**use a few drops of baby oil in the acetone to keep your skin from drying out**
My boyfriends mom does nails and she has the best way to get them off. (Trust me... she's been doing my nails for the past 5 years!! lol)

    1) cut paper towels into little squares

    2) soak the paper towels in acetone -- which can be bought at any beauty supply store

    3) cut tin foil into little squares

    4) put the acetone soaked paper towels around your finger tips

    5) take the tin foil and wrap it around the soaked paper towels and squeeze it kind of tight

    6) leave it on for about 20-25 minutes

    7) take a nail file and file down the remaining acrylic. it should come RIGHT off.

** This is a very very easy way to get them off! sometimes soaking them in a bowl takes forever and even if you do, its not enough to remove all the acrylic. The pressure from the tin foil helps break down the acrylic better!

    Good luck.

Email me if you have any questions!
Your supposed to file down the nail first (Until its not shiny anymore) and the soak them in acetone for a while until they come off! Good luck =]

  • Removal of Gel nails....?

I've got gel nails on and would like to remove them as they have cracked. I know I can use acetone to soak them off, but was wondering if anyone has any other ideas??? It's too expensive to get them removed at the nail place.Removal of Gel nails....?
The best thing to do is to wait for them to grow out. If you take them off now the nail underneath will be very weak and brittle and you could do damage to your nail very easily. other then that if you want them off now you will have to soak them off, or get a nail file and use it on the top of your nail like a buffer and file them down to just above your natural nail then buff them to smooth them out. at least if you do this you can leave a thin layer of the gel and it will give some strength until they grow out.Removal of Gel nails....?
It hurts but you could always pry them off gently. It works for me.Find a loose edge and work a metal nail file between the two and slowly start to pull up on the nail until it all the way off. Do the same for the rest of your nails. It doesn't take very long, and its what most salons do anyway if they were to take them off for you.
acetone soaking is by far the best. or you can take a cotton ball soak it in acetone but it on your nail and wrap tin foil around it. it will get soft and will be easy to remove after.

    Acrylic nail removal?

im quite hard up and even tho its my friends wedding next week, to save pennies i think im gonna have my nails taken off. what are they gonna look like and can i still maintain them and keep them pretty or will i look minging?Acrylic nail removal?
well Carrot, if you take your nails off almost just before the wedding, then i have to warn you: in the first 3-4 weeks your nails WILL be weak, soft and chip in a lot. to make them look a bit nicer you should try to put some nail strenghtner on them and cut them short (preferably with a paper buffer, because the scissors may make them break too in the beginning). this way you can have decnent looking nails at the big day:)Acrylic nail removal?
They will probably be a bit weak for a while but a good manicure will help them look their best.
just soak them off in acetone. you could pick up a bottle for about 2 pounds and it dissolves the nails when you soak them in it so your nails should look fine. it will take a while to soa off tho.

    Nail Removal?

I want to remove some fake nails I have on, but soaked fingers in acitone 2 hours last night only about half of nail came off - my fingers are sore.. Any better way to removeNail Removal?
Put the acetone on a cotton ball then place on your nail then wrap kitchen foil around your finger tips and cotton ball. That way the cotton ball does not touch your skin. Leave on for an hour. As you take one off then take a pointed file or something and gently scrap the fake nail off.Nail Removal?
Try filing them down to your real nail, then Swish your fingertips in nail polish remover, occasionnally pressing on the nails (to slide them off)

This is the best way i've ever tried, it works everytime, unless you have proffessionnally done nails, then it will take longer.
Anytime I want my fake nails off and soaking doesn't work, I just clip them down the shortest I can and then in a couple days when they're not sore anymore I soak them again. If you go to a salon they'll just soak them so don't go to them! Good luck!
i found that if you cut them down to your real nail and then take a fake nail (one of the plastic ones you can buy in a pack) and wiggle it in between your real nail and fake one it helps alot..i use to always get my nails done and whenever i wanted to freshen them up i would do this and then go get them redone..if you want you can try soaking your fake nails in nail polish remover while doing this.. but i find that just useing the fake nail works pretty good.
one time mi mom spilled super glue on her hand and got it of with nail polish remover...

fake nail glue is just pink super glue...
if you soaked for 2 or more hours and nothing came off then chances are you dont have acrylics.... 9 times out of 10 you have gels... it honestly doesnt take that long to remove acrylics... so in this case i would suggest that you go to a salon and have them professionally removed because if what you're saying is true you for sure have gels on and they ONLY way to remove them is to have them electrically filed off
All im gonna say is dont force them off. IT HURTS. Plus your nails are going to look even worse if you do.Expect them to be paper thin and in need of strengthener when they come off.

    Removal of fake nails?

I get my nails done about every month or so. I want to take them off now but do not feel like spending the money to get them taken off. Is there any way I can do it myself with out hurting nu nails? Please answer thank you.Removal of fake nails?
    Hi,

Dip your fingers in acetone (basically nail polish remover) for about 2 minutes, and this will losen them, and you'll be able to peel them off. Make sure you get a good nail moisturiser to put on afterwards, because acetone isn't good for your nails.

    ~Mystic.Removal of fake nails?
You can loosen the glue by soaking them in acetone nail polish remover. then gently use a cuticle stick to loosen the artificial nail until it comes off. You will still have some damage to your natural nail, but it should be minimal.

Is there a quick way to repair nails after removal of acrylic nails?

I removed my acrylic nails a week or so ago. Wow are my nails ever weak now! How do I go about getting them back to normal or better. I've never had strong nails, so I really liked having the fake ones. They looked nice and never chipped, split or peeled. Okay, so I'm vain! Is there any miracle fix for brittle, thin nails. Is there any fake nails that don't ruin your real nails? I love having long nails, but don't want to totally ruin my real nails. Is there any certain product to use to get them healthy. Is there a quick way to repair nails after removal of acrylic nails?
the best fake nails are the gel ones. they aren't as damaging... and if you can afford it, get them removed professionally... not from one of those cheap hole in the wall chop shops.

After you get them removed... use a vitamin enriched lotion (sally hansen) for the first few days... even if they look like crap. your nails have been air deprived while you wore the fakes ones. Then, use a nail strengthener or nail repair polish. Is there a quick way to repair nails after removal of acrylic nails?
oh, honey, i know what you mean. i had fake nails on and mine looked sooo bad after i took them off. =/ well... there's no miracle fix, but if you keep them moisturized and rub olive oil into your cuticles, it will help the new nail grow back healthy. you should leave them polish free for a while so they can breathe (they'll get a little harder, mine did) and then you could put a clear coat on them to protect them. keep them short until all the damaged nail grows out or they will split and peel.

    good luck! %26lt;3
from what i've seen the thickness of your natural nail has a lot of variation in it because of the way they blend-in the fill every 2 weeks. this is only a surface effect where you're looking through different thickness of natural nail, and it looks a little strange. when you take off the acrylic it'll look strange too. it's just a cosmetic effect and not any kind of enduring damage.

so, there's actually no real damage to the real underlying nail bed or the place where the nail grows from.

i agree ... acrylic nails are super strong, NEVER chip, are always smooth (without ridges), and accept polish so very well. they're quite beautiful with a nice coat of OPI polish.

at this point ... the good part my acrylics is better %26amp; worth more to me than the uneven coloration when they're not polished (or uncoated with acrylic). so, i'm keeping mine.

i hope you decide the same thing, and you realize the acrylic is better than going all the way back to natural (because there is no long lasting damage).

    best luck

    Proffesional nails!help;!removal!?

ok i got my nails done (white i think it's called when they only put the tips of the nails NOT the entire nail)

and now they grew out for like 3 weeks. so i wanted to remove them.. so i soked them in nail polish remover. and rubbed nothing happened to i cut the tips off. and i had the left over stuff they used to make my nail look fuller. it chipped in the remover.. and i eventully got it all off of some nails. and now it's all chips of that stuff stuck to my nails it looks like scales!

what do i do? help....im gunnna paint my nails but what do i do with that gunky chippy stuff on my nails?Proffesional nails!help;!removal!?
I think you have to make sure that the nail polish remover that you're using contains acetone. If that still doesn't work, you'll have to buff off the leftover glue, causing your own nails to become really thin, or wait until it grows off.

    UV Gel Nails removal...?

About two weeks ago i got Gel nails fitted.

They're really nice but theyve grown out loads and ive decided NOT to get them refilled purely because ive sort of had enough n im really worried about my real nails getting wrecked.

So to get them off..... im kinda reluctant to go back to the salon to get them off cus its quite expensive and its a while away from where i live...

is there any way that i can get them off at home... without actually pulling them off cus im thinking that wud hurt like hell!

Please ...any help wud be really appreciated :)

Please, please, please don't do this yourself! I did it once and I totally wrecked my nails, they were so thin and brittle afterwards. If you can't afford the salon price why not visit a beauty school or college and see if they can do it cheaper for you.

    Acrylic nails removal question!?

I know you have to soak your hands in acetone nail polish remover, but will it still work with non acetone remover? If not what else can i soak them in.......will alcohol work?

    please help???????!!!!!Acrylic nails removal question!?
    ya noAcrylic nails removal question!?
no you need to use acetone,or go to a professional
Acetone nail polish remover eats them away, so yes. Use that. Alcohol will dry your skin out.

Only soak your fingers in acetone nail polish remover. Non-acetone means it won't hurt your fake nails.
no. alcohol is a disinfectant.acetone breaks down the bonds in the plastic.
it'll work but it will hurt if its non acetone
im pretty sure you can go back to the nail salon and get them removed
No, alcohol is not strong enough. Acetone breaks down the acrylic.
You need to use acetone. BUT if you have uv gel nails then the soaking won't work you need to go to a salon to get them taken off.

How can I remove decking held down with spiral nails, I do not care if the decking is damaged in the removal.?

Well, like I said the first time, try using a cats paw to get under the head and pull it. If that doesn't work, Use a bar to lift the board away from the joist. If the nails are holding that well, they will pull through the deck board. This will not hurt the joist. After the board is off, either break off the nail or cut it off with a Sawzall. Hope this helps. How can I remove decking held down with spiral nails, I do not care if the decking is damaged in the removal.?
You'll need a large (3 foot) pry bar and another person to do this quickly. Start on the longer boards. Pry from the end to loosen the first row of nails. As you work your way down the board have your other person pull up on the part you just loosened. Between the pry bar and the leverage of the person pulling on the board they will pop right up. Some will break but it's off then isn't it?

You could hammer any remaining nails into the joist but you then run the risk of hitting that nail when you're installing the new decking. With that three foot pry bar you should be able to pry the nails up without much effort at all.How can I remove decking held down with spiral nails, I do not care if the decking is damaged in the removal.?
quick way is to run a power saw through the decking at mid point. hit the decking with a hammer and it will usually lift the nails, you will need a small wrecking bar as well to extract difficult nails
get a chainsaw and cut it up into carryable pieces if you just want to remove the whole thing. otherwise a large pry bar pulling the whole board, not just individual nails will get it done fairly quick
Use a large pry bar, when you get some up then use a sledge hammer to knock them up.

Help! Finger nail stuck in anus! Removal help required!?

I have a fingernail stuck in my anus! It's too much pain, I tried using tweezers too remove them but I got them stuck there too! It's too embarrassing for a doctor what shall I do?!

Don't answer me with a joke, because it's not funny and I'm in pain!Help! Finger nail stuck in anus! Removal help required!?
well why did you ask this question??

plus if you were in pain, you would be smart enough to call for emergency help %26amp;%26amp; not be sitting here asking other peoples opinions.Help! Finger nail stuck in anus! Removal help required!?
absolutely see the doctor, if it makes you feel better, my best friend is an ER doctor and she's told me MUCH worse stories than that. I promise you that they won't judge you for getting your fingernail nail, and the tweezers stuck there. If you leave them there, you risk puncturing your colon and having to have extremely painful surgery, in the long run, mild embarrassment is definitely the lesser of two evils.

Just to make you feel better here's a story that she told me... A man went into the ER in Miami where she works, because he had an APPLE stuck up his rear... when the doctor asked how he got it up there he said ';I walked into the kitchen naked, the apple was on the floor, and there was a puddle of water I slipped in, and I fell on it and it went up there...'; obviously he was lying... believe me, she's told me worse stories than that, but that was the tamest one I could post- it's actually a VERY common problem in the ER...

but at least yours isn't that bad :) Good luck!!
    Hi

You should fill a tub of bathwater as warm as you can stand it and soak for about 15 minutes, while pulling one side or the other of your buttock to one side and let the water reach the anal area then do the other side. You maybe have to do this more than once, but it should loosen the area and the nail should come out.

I had an experience similar to this only this was the slick pieces off of popcorn and I know how painful this is.

    Removal of Tibia nail?

I broke my tibia 14 months ago, spiral fracture. I had the nail and 4 screws put in. Long story short. I had non union so had a larger nail put in 6 months after the original break. It is now 8 months later and Im still experincing pain. I've had all 4 screws already removed. And since I had the last ones removed 4 weeks ago. I now have pain throughout my entire lower leg. Does this make sense? Is the nail moving around? And final most important question. Should I have it removed and has anyone else removed theirs?

Thanks in advanceRemoval of Tibia nail?
I know exactly how you feel. I had screws put in my leg. My doc. told me it might be a year before it gets completely better. I think your pain is just from where the screws were.

I think you should have the nail removed if possible though. I think you should go in to your orthopedic and let him make sure nothing is wrong or anything.

(after I had my screws removed, I broke my other leg 2 months later!)

My 2 yr old daughter painted my 10 month old baby's face and body with nail polish! Safe removal tips? Help!

Nail polish will naturally come off the skin in probably less than a day with just soap and water. The natural oils in the skin will cause the nail polish to flake off. Which is ok if there is just a small amount of it, but knowing toddlers she probably got the whole bottle smeared on there. Acetone free nail polish remover (the kind with moisturizers and vitamins added, expensive but this is your baby's face we are talking about). Bath immediately after and use lots of moisturizer.

You're lucky it was just nail polish, wait until she finds the black permanent marker and the scissors! My 2 yr old daughter painted my 10 month old baby's face and body with nail polish! Safe removal tips? Help!

nail polish remover then moisturiser then keep all your make up out of the way its easy done!!!! i keep my bedroom door locked, i have a tub for pens, crayons, paints, playdough, scissors i had to learn the hard way hehe good luck
Acetone free nail polish remover. Take pictures first, cause your kids will want to laugh at this with you when they're older.
i agree with the above answer(s), and make sure the baby's face doesn't get wrinkly, because then whatever you're using is too strong, or has a bad effect on babies. and then for a couple days when giving your baby a bath, don't scrub hard on the places where the nail polish was, because on certain skin it has an after-feel kind of thing, hope i helped!
Ohh no. What a cheeky monkey. Sounds silly but try baby wipes. Might work as I used them to clean my stove top to get grease and baked on foods off. Otherwise baby oil, make up remover, ummmmm can't think of anything else. If all else fail maybe you will have to use acetone FREE nail polish remover. You can get all natural oil based ones that I would think to be safe enough. Good luck
Acetone free nail polish remover. And then bath the baby and apply moisturizer after removing the nail polish.
If use Acetone be carefull! If it gets into the eyes...

Just because the baybies move a lot... so watch out!
I would try a washcloth and the baby's regular soap before I tried nail polish remover. I am pregnant and HUGE and have trouble painting my own toes now. But I've found that if I just go ahead and get messy with it, the part that gets on my skin comes off easily enough in the shower with shower gloves or a pedicure brush and my daughter's Johnson%26amp;Johnson.

(The reason I suggest the baby soap isn't because it works better, but because it is less drying and you WILL need to rub more than usual, so less drying is good.)

Any henna nail stain removal methods?

I dyed my friends hair and stupid me, didn't wear gloves. we used henna to dye her hair and naturally my hands and nails ended up being stained. the stain came out of my hands within a few weeks but it's been months and I still have the stains in the tips of my nails (due to how much they've grown since). I've soaked my nails in pure acetone, acetone free nailpolish remover, diluted bleach and used different paints but the stains are still there. does anyone have any other ideas that I could try before I settle for putting up with it??Any henna nail stain removal methods?
Henna is a natural dye and it binds with the keratin in hair and skin and nails.

    It is a permanent dye.

There is really nothing you can do to get rid of it on your nails.

Perhaps you can gently file the top layer of dyed nail down to lighten it similar to the way a nail person would when applying acrylic nails.Be very careful if you do this. Otherwise, just use another color and paint over it until the dyed nail grows out.

Or you can dye your nails some more with henna to keep it colored.Any henna nail stain removal methods?
try #40 developer. it is 40% peroxide, then use some lotion it dries the skin bad. i did the same thing a few years ago. get the developer from any beauty supply shop.

    Nail Fungas and toenail removal?

I have a nail fungas, and it is really bad. I am considering removal of the infected toenails. I was wondering if it will take care of the fungus, and will the nail grow back normaly after doing so.Nail Fungas and toenail removal?
my wife had this. tea tree oil got rid of all but the fungus under the big toe. lamisal didn,t work at all. she finally had the nails on the big toe removed. they may grow back, if they are not removed properly.Nail Fungas and toenail removal?
    ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
My friend has that issue. She has to get her toenail removed every 5 months. It grows back, but she doesn't care for the fungus properly while the nail is growing back, so that may be the issue. Go to a foot doctor and get a consult. Most insurances require you to go to a normal doctor and have them refer you to a specialist, so do that first. (or check with your insurance)

The nail should grow back fine, but there's no way of anyone knowing with just the info given. Have you tried that antifungal stuff they sell at drug stores. If not, give it a shot. If one doesn't work, try a different kind (with different active ingredients) Your insurance may not cover toenail removal unless a doctor says it's bad, so try OTC stuff before spending the $ on the surgery.

Make sure you clean your shower often, and dont walk around barefoot. When showering somewhere besides your house, wear shower shoes. You don't want to spread your fungus to others, or make yours worse. Spray your shoes with antifungal spray weekly. My sis has a bad issue with foot fungus because she does sports. When she sprays her shoes, and cleans her feet properly, it's better.
Soak your feet in hydrogen peroxide. That will kill the fungus. Keep your feet in the peroxide until it stops bubbling. When it stops bubbling, refill the peroxide and soak until your feet do not make the peroxide bubble.

The fungus lives below toenails and beneath calluses. If you have calluses on your feet, make sure you remove them first..

People's feet stink because of fungus living beneath calluses..

    NAIL POLISH REMOVAL REMOVE ZITS?

    ?????NAIL POLISH REMOVAL REMOVE ZITS?
That's a little rash (and might cause one as well). If you have a few zits, big or little, so long as they aren't blackheads, go to Wal-Mart, get stuff that has 10% benzoyl peroxide in it (it'll be under active ingredients), and dab that on 2-3 times a day. You could use Clean and Clear Persa Gel - 10 or the off brand stuff. Either one works fine. Your zit(s) will be completely gone in two or three days. Be careful, because it is very drying so just use it as a spot treatment, and it also bleaches fabric, so keep it away from your clothes/pillow cases.

If you have a lot of zits or blackheads, use a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide twice a day. A cleanser before and a moisturizer after.NAIL POLISH REMOVAL REMOVE ZITS?
I highly doubt that using nail polish remover on your skin is healthy...try putting some toothpaste on it or just dealing with it until it goes away....sorry....but that's all i can say..hope i helped a little bit.
no! it dries out your skin (which is why you should use lotion after you remove your nail polish) and that can make your skin break out more.
Idk where u heard that from or if it's true or not but i would kind f be scared to put that strong liquid on my skin.
I haven't heard of this but tooth paste on a zit can help dry it up :]
    no, toothpaste.

How long does the skin remold around the toe after a removal of an ingrown toe nail?

And if you mean, how long does it take for the skin to grow back to fill in the holes left by the removal of the ingrown toenails....it should only take a couple of days.

It would help if you soaked your feet in a warm water/epsom salt solution for as long as you can stand to. (It should feel great in this heat if you use slightly cool water.) The whole idea behind this being that if you soften the skin, it would most readily return to ';normal'; much faster. How long does the skin remold around the toe after a removal of an ingrown toe nail?
what do you mean? i've had the surgery for ingrown toenails on both big toes, it takes awhile to heal completely and your nail will appear smaller and your toe big. the nail no longer will be growing into the side of the toe, you can feel the edges on the sides now and the skin won't grow back onto it.

I pressed it back down, washed it and put a loose bandage on it. This morning I wrapped it tighter to be able to put on a shoes and go to work. I'm curious to learn how to care for it until it heals. I really don't want to take the time required to sit in a doctors office for half a day and then return another half dozen times during the healing process.Upon injury to big toe nail, What procedures should one take, bandage, ointment, removal of toe nail etc. ?

    Nail polish removal help?

I don't have the cotton ball things so what else can I use the remover on and how much should I use? Or, is it true that if you put another coat on and wipe it off that both coats will come off?Nail polish removal help?
How old are you? Use a Kleenex if you don't have cotton balls or wipe pads. You need remover to get old polish off....not more polish.Nail polish removal help?
It is true that if you put another coat of nail polish on your nails that the previous nail polish will wipe off, but not as clean.

now, if you have those cotton pads that you wipe your face with, that can work, or really good towel paper can work also.

    or even jay cloth.

but the cotton ball works the best.
Toliet paper? Wash cloth? Q tip?
if you on another coat it will just be harder and take longer to take off. usually there are instructions on the bottle. i really like using cu-tips to get near your cuticles but you can use it for the entire finger\hand. for the amount just make sure it is fully soaked
    Use a towel.
use papertowels. dont use tolet paper. and justball up the paper towel and put it on top of the opening of the nail polish remover and tip it up side downa nd that should be enough. just use as much as you need.

and yes its true that if you put another coat on and white it off that both coats will come off, but why waste the nail polish if you have the remover

    ?
If you put another coat on top and wipe it off, part of it will come off but the other half will stay on and look crappy. Use a little remover at first, and then add more if the polish isn't coming off. take a clean-ex curl it in a ball then take another clean-ex and smooth it over the first one. It will work just as well as cotton balls. That's what I use. It's cheaper.
if you dont have the cotton ball things, try makeup remover pads or kleenex. Just use enough that the applicator is less than damp.
u cud use it on tissue or smthin like that

and to the 2nd question- yep its true just rem to wipe it off rite away...
Choose a light colour of nailpolish and put some over top of the colour, then wipe it off with paper towel. It works :D
kleenex or tp will work with polish remover.

I am scared of getting my big toe nail removed because it is ingrown. not the actual removal, but the needles ?

how painful is it, worse than getting a needle in your mouth? or worse?I am scared of getting my big toe nail removed because it is ingrown. not the actual removal, but the needles ?
It is bad but it is worth it

-RRZI am scared of getting my big toe nail removed because it is ingrown. not the actual removal, but the needles ?
ohhh mann, when i got mine off like a week after summer started, it just healed now, it hurt bad, the needles obviously, i had like a reaction to it? and i have little scars where the needles went in, but trust me its soooooooooo worth it .

but it was weird, cause needles dont hurt me, just hurt that time, kinda feels like your foot is fallling intensly asleep . lmao
I had it done and it does hurt but let me tell you it is worth it!!! I can't explain the pain but on a rating scale it was probably a 7 or an 8 but it wont hurt to long becuase it goes numb very quick to when I got stuck the second time it didn't hurt.
somewhat worse, but wears off quickly

Would I look stupid using crutches a day after toe nail removal?

I had to get half my toenail cut off yesterday and I stayed up all night tonight (now it is 6:40am) with it hurting. I'm on lortabs but i'm still hurting and I was wondering if I would look stupid using crutches today. I play college ball and we have a fall tournament going on right now and I went yesterday to the fields right after my surgery to support my team and everything went smooth. Well i'm in a lot of pain now and my mom mentioned using my crutches to relieve the stress on my foot since I will be at a ball field ALL DAY again. The doctor told me to get plenty of rest and to prop it up. I will prop but once again, do you think I am being to uptight about it all? Please let me know what you think. Especially if you have had it done! Thanks! :)Would I look stupid using crutches a day after toe nail removal?
use crutches if you want to....nobody knows your pain level...do what feels best for you....who cares what anybody else thinks?..Would I look stupid using crutches a day after toe nail removal?
    No way!

I knew a girl who got an ingrown toenail and had only half of it surgically removed. SHe still had crutches. Actually, you'd be pretty dumb NOT to have crutches.

If you do use crutches, you won't be moving your foot around to circulate blood as much as walking, so don't forget to stretch and move around your ankle to avoid getting a throbbing pain in your foot from too much blood in there!

    Xx
no, u wont look stupid.... crutches will release the stress in ur foot... if i were in ur place i would use crutches... theres nothing wrong with it
    no
    no
no! that **** hurts. do what you want

Do drug abusers use nail varnish removal?

i think my son is using drugs ,but he keeps saying no ,but i found nail-varnish removal stuff in his room i am worried he is using that for sme kickDo drug abusers use nail varnish removal?
yes it's possible to get a slight high off the fumes.

Talk to him and find out what he's using it for.Do drug abusers use nail varnish removal?
yeah it's called huffing... it's very dangerous. It can kill you the first time or any other time you try it. It's actually a lot more dangerous than illegal drugs. Tell him to stick to stuff like cough syrup or weed. If you are afraid for your son and don't want him doing drugs... it's not gonna do anything. You should just tell him not do huff.

Just try to give him facts about stuff. Don't try giving him the ';drug talk'; now cuz he's obviously already knows about them. Here is a great site to look at any drug that you have questions about:

    http://erowid.org
It's possible. I would be on the lookout for Cough Medicine, Dust Air Remover(Dust-off, etc).

There is also other medication you should look for. Anything that's out of the ordinary.
You are only an abuser if you hurt someone or something. Nothing wrong with lets say '; taking advantage '; of an innocent bottle of nail varnish remover.
Yeah, it's a solvent that you can inhale. Unless he's into nail polish you might want to ask him what it is for.

  • How to strengthen and lengthen nails after artificial nail removal?

Hello Y! community I have recently removed artificial nails that were on for less than 3 weeks. All through out my high school years (8 yrs ago) I had acrylic nails and for some reason wanted them again, although I ultimately decided all natural works best.

I am wondering how I can regain nail strength and potentially lengthen my nails. I don't want them long but to at least reach the tips of my finger's instead of having these shorter than short nails that show the fleshy skin that is typically underneath a nail.

I have tried Sally Hanson products but to no avail, it has been approximately 2.5 months now and my nails are still soft and short.

Are there any all natural suggestions or even a few products that aid in nail strengthening.

All answers are greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance. How to strengthen and lengthen nails after artificial nail removal?
What I think you should do, is either buy (or if you have) some clear nail strengthener. It takes a couple times and as far as growing out your nails again, that just takes some time. Try not to pick around your nails or your actual nail and it will grow back faster than having to constantly cut them. How to strengthen and lengthen nails after artificial nail removal?
    Hello!

    Permanent toe nail removal?

I'm 14 and I've had ingrown nails constantly for 2 years. ( It's the genetic kind.) On July 7th I had a side of my nail removed permanently ( they burned it or whatever). My doctor said to soak off the bandages 2 days later. I had to take 2 buses home which she didn't like and I got home 3 hours later in dying pain. To top it off I had no Tylenol and couldn't fill the prescription for tylenol3 she gave me!

I have been taking showers every day since the 9th and my toe has been getting wet. It was insanely infected before.

I was wondering when it should heal decently and when it's okay to go swimming in a public pool and ocean/lake.Permanent toe nail removal?
I had both my big toes done and it took about a month for them to return to normal. But that was because they were in such a state anyway.

How do they look? Do they look like they are healing ok? I'd put off swimming till they look fully healed.

Toe nail removal tomorrow, and im terrifed !!! HELP?

I have to get half of my toenail removed tomorrow and I am scared that the stuff they are going to numb it with will not work....I really dumb and looked it up on the internet and saw a surgery and it totally freaked me out! And i was told that if its infected..like mine...then the numbing stuff wont work. is that true?? I am starting to freak out, the doctor said it will take 10 min but im not good with pain....I think its beacause the anistesia (sp ?) from when i was in labour didnt work so now im just scared i am going to be in that much pain again. I dont handle pain too well.....Anyone have this done? Any tips to stop freaking out!!!Toe nail removal tomorrow, and im terrifed !!! HELP?
I had this done and my situation and panic was similar to yours. It was sooooooooo unnecessary. There will be some discomfort, but not much and its more of a ';pressure'; discomfort than a sharp PAIN, so just sit back and relax. It will all be over soon. You'll be fine!!Toe nail removal tomorrow, and im terrifed !!! HELP?
theres many, many, many, many, many forms of anesthesia, so if that kind didn't work they wouldn't use it again... dont worry, my brother had it done when he dropped a car battery on his toe *hes a dumb ****

    its going to be fine

    *gives reassuring pat on back*
    dont panic at all

i had this done last year

    and im only 13

little bit of pain when they stick the anesthetic in your toe

stings cuz they do it for like 5 minutes

after that you cant feel a thing trust me

then once it wears off it will hurt a little but not very bad and the pain will go away within a day or two

    absolutely nothing to worry about

    hope this helped

    good luck,

    Dylan

    Fake nail removal? >_<?

My friend put some fake nails on me today, and I dont know how to get them off!

I got 2 off but it hurt quite a bit...

What can I do to get them off easier?

Theres a CVS nearbly so is there anything I can buy?Fake nail removal? %26gt;_%26lt;?
Nail polish remover that has acetone. That's what they use in the salons...Fake nail removal? %26gt;_%26lt;?
You can soak them in polish remover. There is also an acrylic nail remover you can buy. Nothing will dissolve them completly, so it's going to hurt a bit. If you can afford it, I would go to a nail salon and have them take them off.
soke in hot water or acetone!!!
Soak them in nail polish remover. Make sure it has acetone in it.
Soak your fingers in nail polish remover. It take them off easier and doesn't hurt as much.
soak in nailpolish remover with acetone, soak for 10-15 minutes should come off pretty easily
Nail varnish remover used quite liberally will do it!

Dont pull them off it will damamge your nails underneath and hurt!

    Good Luck :))
some nails will 'dissolve' if you soak in acetone polish remover... be careful... if you try to pull when the glue is new, you will pull off layers of your nail too... soak, soak, soak and gently lift at the edges with an wooden cuticle stick... be gentle...
soak them in nail polisher wilth acetone and wallla
Well, I heard that if you run your nails under hot water, it hurts less.

    :]]
    soak in nail polish remover
Nail polish remover %26amp; let them soak. It helps melt the glue but it has to be the kind with acetone!
what you need to do is go to a salon and get them off!! i had a hoooorrrible experiance with getting them off myself and it HURTS, plus it makes ur nails super short and thin. good luckk!!!!
I've found out (the hardway) after having them on and then going and grabbing hot clothes out of the dryer mine have fallen off even if they've been on for hours or days but most of the time i just pull them off, I'll start messing with em , get a section to start comming off and just keep at it till it comes off

maybe soaking them in hot water will make the glue unstick and make em come off eaiser
pure acetone, buy it at the beauty supply store, CVS may have it.
try using nail polish remover and soak your hands in hot water....that will soften them up and be easier to bite off.

    HELP!?!?!?! fake nail removal?

I put a fake nail on and i didn't center it right and now it is tuck to my skin. I used the super glue stuff that came with it. the nail is stuck to my finger and it hurts because it is pinching my skin. How the heck do you remove fake nails?!HELP!?!?!?! fake nail removal?
Nail glue and a plastic nail tip. You can soak your hand in hot soap water for a good few minutes. then slowly try to lift and seperate the nail from the skin. DO NOT rip the nail off of your natural nail. Once you get the glue off your skin, start soaking in Pure Acetone. It will melt and dissolve the plastic and glue. Let it soak, then check and see if its lifitng, then soak some more. Be patient. If you rip it off you will damage your natural nail. This can take 5-10 minutes, depending on how much glue there is.HELP!?!?!?! fake nail removal?
    You need acetone.

You can get this over the counter at the chemist and it is in most nail-varnish removers unless they say acetone-free. Pour it into a little tub and soak your finger in it. It will come off quickly and cleanly.
Nail polish remover or acetone is very good....i have this problem too sometimes lol.

    Acrylic nail removal...DIY or salon?

Hi everyone! I want to remove my acrylic nails. I have salon grade acetone at home here and was thinking about removing them myself. Then I wouldn't have to take my son to a sitter and shell out the $15+tip to have a salon remove them. However, I have heard horror stories about people ruining their nails when they do it themselves. So, for those who have or have had acrylic nails: Is doing it yourself worth it or should I just go to the salon?Acrylic nail removal...DIY or salon?
Go to the salon, it's worth it... especially if you got them done at the salon as they'll be stronger. However, if you did them yourself you should still go to the salon. I accidentally ripped half of my thumb nail off when taking acrylic nails off myself. In my opinion, it's worth 拢15 to avoid that, haha!Acrylic nail removal...DIY or salon?
go to the salon, if you ruin your nailbeds it will be much more.

My husband has a lot of problems with his big toe nail. He always has ingrown nails or fungus problems. Can he just have his toe nail removed?Toe nail removal?
He should get it cut out if it is ingrown. They can just cut the edge of the nail. If they remove the whole nail it can take like 10 months to regrow. I believe they have medicine you can take for the fungus.

    Fake nail removal PLZ HELP!!!?

i got fake nails on (tips) they been on for a while and i want them to be removed.... intstead of going to the salon and paying for this i was woundering if there is any at home treatments u can do to take them off..Fake nail removal PLZ HELP!!!?
some of the glues actually dissolve in chlorine water (that's why fake nails sometimes fall off when you go in the pool)

Nail polish remover can also help dissolve some of the glues they use, both take time and though but allot cheaper than going to a salonFake nail removal PLZ HELP!!!?
Honestly i just clip mine off.

I clip the sides also so it lifts of my real nail and just pull it off.
soak them in acetone nail polish remover or rip them of it doesnt reck them that bad just buy a good nailpolish that helps them

    Toe nail fungus.. nail removal?

i've had toe nail fungus for a while (pretty much all my toenails :-/)

and was thinking of my options, tried over the counter stuff and my doctor has said I could use lamisil but it can damage your liver and stuff

so was wondering if any one whos had this has had luck with toe nail removal? figure it'd be painful but better than risking damaging my organsToe nail fungus.. nail removal?
Hi, I am a nail tech. You can buy something that you drop between your nail plate and skin at a lot of nail salons. I can not remember the name of the product but it was something like, ';Fung-Gone';? Yeah, don't do the removal. Your nail would look pretty at all once you get it done.Toe nail fungus.. nail removal?
the fungus isn't hurting any of your systemic organs, and the results of toenail removal look MUCH worse than the fungus.
hiya. i recommend a foot spa and dry them properly and sprinkle some talc on em ... that helps
A coworker of mine had this done, he said it took a few times but it worked.
pour peroxide on them several times a day. Peroxide kills fungus.

    Fake nail removal problem?

i wne to the nail place and got fake nails put on and you have to go back and get them taken off if you dont wan to wait for them to take it off. is there any way you can do it yourself so i can save some money?Fake nail removal problem?
get the nail glue remover. you drop the liquid around your fake nails and shake it constantly. it's gonna be a mess. but if you're careful enough, the nail can be reused.

otherwise get pure acetone and immerse your entire nail into it. the nail will somehow soften and you can pull it out easily. bad point is the nail cant be reused at all...Fake nail removal problem?
i took them off myself today actually i just bit them off and used a nail clipper and cuticle cutter. be careful tho... my nails are so weak underneath! i need to go get a new set
i had to soak mines in many diffret things, cilp them, and breakthem to get them off.

when i finally did my nails were ruinded.

    i got a new set .

    i recomend u go 2 the shop.

it may be exspensive but go.

i ish i went to the shop instead of wat i did.
My oldest daughter gets them put on often, when she is ready to take them off, she just soaks her fingers in fingernail polish remover.

It seems to work well for her.
Go to the grocery store and buy one hundred percent PURE acetone. It's extremely strong and is used on fake nails. You'll need to soak your nails in it and pry the nail off. Don't buy Cutex brand or something like that. you need the pure stuff. no aloe or protein enhancer nonsense added!
I tried soaking them in pure acetone to get them off...it took an obscenely long time and the acrylic was still bonded to my nail in some places. Go to the salon and get them removed--it costs like $10 and it's very much worth it.
buy non acetone nail polish and soak them for 15 min utes. you can buy this at a beauty supply shop like sallys
I want to echo the acetone answer, biting them off can cause big time damage to your nails. After they come off wash your hands well to take off the acetone and then moisturize well to limit damage.

I need HELP with acrylic nail removal!?

I got pink and white acrylics (gel) 8 days ago for a wedding... and I want them OFF! They are starting to peel up at the sides. I noticed in other questions people had asked acetone was recommended. If I want them off tonight is that the best way to go? I understand it will take a long time to soak and my nails may be a little sore, but I just want these things gone. Someone please let me know what is the best way to go about this. I'm open to any suggestions!I need HELP with acrylic nail removal!?
sorry sweetie but acetone WONT help to remove gels....alot of ppl dont know this....but i'm gonna give it to you straight....gels can ONLY be removed by drilling....so your best bet is to go back to where you have them put on and have them remove them...cause to be honest you will be sitting hours on end if you even think about trying to remove them with acetone....I need HELP with acrylic nail removal!?
soak your hands in hot soapy water for 10 min and then try some acetone nailpolish remover or whatever. they should be able to peel right off. acetone is the best way to go.
You should try soaking them in acetone nail polish removal. It really works.
This is what you should do. Go to a good beauty supply store (like Sally's Beauty Supply) and buy the acetone nail remover for acrylics- NOT natural nails. It's a pain, but pour a little in a small bowl, and just soak them until they become pliable and softer. You can then use nail clippers to snip away the bigger portions and keep soaking them until they melt completely off. It's going to take some patience, but it will work.
My wife had the same problem after her wedding.

Regular nail polish remover won't help, it doesn't have a high enough concentration of acetone.. Some beauty supply stores will have 100% acetone, but you can get the same 100% acetone for much cheaper at the hardware store.

It speeds the process to clip any extended portions of the acrylic nail off, if you can find strong enough nail clippers, or use cutting pliers (carefully).

Pour the acetone in a small glass bowl or dish (not plastic!)and soak your nails in it. after 20-30 minutes they should start swelling up and get spongy. You can soak for a while longer, or you can speed the process by scraping the spongy part off with a sharp knife and soaking again, until they're gone. Be careful not to scrape through your own natural nails. I helped my wife do this and the entire process took about 45 minutes.

Acetone evaporates very quickly, and is very strong. Your fingers will feel cold while the acetone evaporates, and you might need to add more to the dish every so often. You also ought to have good ventilation. Avoid any open flames. Your skin will become extremely dry after being in the acetone, so use a good moisturizer.

Your natural nails will be slightly soft after you get the acrylic nails off, but over the next few months the soft parts will grow off the ends of your nails and be trimmed away. The new nail growth after that may ever be stronger than your natural nails were previously.
You can not soak gels off. You can only soak acrylics off. You have to file gels off.

PS -- there is no such thing as acrylic (gel); there is only one of the other %26amp; you are probably refering to getting acrylic nails with a gel overlay, still same thing, file off until you get to acrylic
i took some thing sharp like a needle or compass (that they use in math) and put it underneath into one of the corners that were peeling and just like picked away at the stuff holding it there it didnt hurt at all and i didnt even notice i was doing it to tell you the truth buit i suggest after that you go to a nail salon and get the nails buffed there will be a big dent in them those things wreck your nails

Applying nail polish removal on pimples a good idea? it contains alcohol? What else can i do to remove pimples

don't use nail polish remover. instead, use salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which have been known to help with acne. you can get these topical ointments from your local drugstore. or you can even use toothpaste to dry out pimples.Applying nail polish removal on pimples a good idea? it contains alcohol? What else can i do to remove pimples
you could use some toothpaste that usually helps but don't use polish remover you gonna jack up your face.Applying nail polish removal on pimples a good idea? it contains alcohol? What else can i do to remove pimples
No offense but the nail polish thing is kind of dumb. I am sure you know that you get pimples from clogged pores. Also your pores need an ample amount of oxygen. Hints, fingernail polish remover will just worsen the problem. I use pro active and i honestly see no improvement in my skin. Clearasil makes acne vanishing cream that you can wear to sleep and school. I love it. Practically works overnight and it's only like 4 bucks when my proactive isn't even working and it was like 65.
No. Its a bad idea. Nail polish contains ton of harmful not to mention dangerous chemicals that could cause harm if you drank so placing it on your skin where your pores could slowly take it in is still not a good idea. Try tazerac.
Do that only if you want nasty burn's all over your face .
HORRIBLE IDEA. You will ruin your skin like that. Don't use alcohol either. Use something that will gently dry out your pimples like Clearisil or Phisoderm. You can also use toothpaste if you want a home remedy, but please please please DON'T USE NAILPOLISH REMOVER.
Try Pro-Activ. Has worked for my brother in law. Nail polish... sheeze... Don't try huffing, either, genius...
Nail polish remove does not contain alcohol, some of it has acetone and it is very drying to the skin. My daughter uses a product by the name of ';ZapZit';. Sold at Wal-Mart for very reasonable price - it is very drying as well but it works and you can always use some moisturizer and facial scrub after the pimple is gone.
    y not just use alcohol....
OMG, NO!!! Acetone is never good for any part of your skin!!

Alcohol isn't good either. It's very drying to your skin!! Try using some benzoyl peroxide gel, you can get the cheap Wal-Mart kind for a couple of dollars.
No, it's a bad idea. Your pimples will go away when you're done with puberty.

Nail removal...im going to need a surgen for this question.?

Would it be possible to romove all of the organs or whatever that makes the nal a nail, and re-place it by a fake metal one... i was thinking that you could drill so far into the bone and put groves there and place the fake nail so where it would be locked in the with ''puzzel-like'' parts to lock it there.Nail removal...im going to need a surgen for this question.?
While I'm not a surgeon, I can say that this could probably be done but the drawbacks likely outweigh the benefits. First, yes, you could remove all of the part of the nail (which would have to include the stem cells which cause the nail to grow out but the fact is, it would take a lot of major reconstructive work to make your finger look like a finger again. Secondly, yes you could drill some sort of ';holder'; into the bone of the finger but you'd probably end up with either a soft-tissue infection (and may lose the finger) or a bone infection and neither of those are particularly pleasant.

You can buy the soak at any store. It only takes about 30 min.
go to a nail salon, they will take them off with ease. I used those at home kits one time and somehow the acrylic dried all over the tips of my fingers. I had old people fingers for two weeks!
Pure acetone soak. They'll loosen in anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.
    Pull them off with pliers.

Ingrown Toenail surgery, full nail removal?

Ok, finally after 4 ingrown toenails in 2 years i'm getting the full nail removed. I've had 3 partials already so i'm used to the injections. Thank you in advance.Ingrown Toenail surgery, full nail removal?
I've had the same problem. They numb it so it doesn't hurt when they take it off. The thing is if they don't kill the nail bed it will just grow back and you may have the same problems. I finally had mine taken off and they just killed the nail bed on each side (I have a partial nail down the center of my toe doesn't look to bad). As long as you follow the instructions of cleaning and taking care of it, the pain isn't that bad. Good luck

Help with my acrylic nails removal process?

What did you do after you soaked them? After they soak for a while, you're supposed to take a thick emery board (nail file) and file away at the nails until they come off. Alternate soaking, then filing, then soaking, then filing. It takes a while, but it's the safest way to remove them and you're already on the right track!

Just remember to file them between soaking. The best emery board to use is probably one of the thicker ones intended for your toenails. Good luck!! :)Help with my acrylic nails removal process?
    1st did u trip them?

2nd try using a tooth pick to get under the nail lift it up a bit it will hurt but it wil lhelp then soak then u can try pulling it off
Cut the tips off and then you can take a nail file and file the acrylic down. you may want a nail hardener on after though.

fake nails will always damage a persons real nails, no matter how carefully you put them on or remove them, its just the way it is. it weakens the nails so much and shell just have to wait for them to grow back. she can use a nail hardening polish to keep some strength intact while theyre growing out, and keep them polished to seal in the moisture and prevent breakage. (i read all this in the OPI magazine at my nail salon =])

Ingrown toe nail removal: Does it hurt?

Please only answer if you actually had this done.

In a couple hours I'll be getting two of my ingrown toe nails removed. They will apparently numb it, and will be cutting my toe on both sides, and I'll of course be fully conscience. I am terrified. Will I feel anything? Will it actually hurt? They'll probably stitch it up, right? Anything you have to say would be useful!Ingrown toe nail removal: Does it hurt?
Hey hun i got it done a year or 2 ago, yeah it was quite sore only the injections am not going to lie, but it was well worth it now that i have a nice healthy toe back.

Yes they numb it they inject you on each side of your toe and then down the way from the top of the toe so it is completely numbed. i watched the whole thing amazed by what they were doing but i couldnt feel it lol, there is a lot of tugging and it feels uncomfortable but not painful.

After then injections they started to cut out the infected part of the nail (i never got the whole nail removed) right from the nail bed, after they removed the infected part of the nail they used some sort of acid to kill that part of the nail bed to stop the nail growing back.

Oh and no they dont stitch it up as they dont cut any of your skin, they bandage it up pretty well tho, your toes ends up being about 10x its normal size lol

Good luck and dont stress yourself out about it, its not as bad as you think!

    Hope everything goes well (';,)

xxxIngrown toe nail removal: Does it hurt?
The injections do hurt a little bit but its an anesthetic they are putting into your to so you wont feel anything. They are injecting something called local anesthetic well i assume so, this is what they did for me). That means you are totally numb to anything in that part of your body. They use it for much bigger operations than an ingrown toenail so don't worry about it. Yes they will probably stitch it up. The only advice I can give is try not to look. When I had mine done i had to lie down and was given the option of if I wanted to look on a screen. I said yes and wished i hadn't.
The injections in the toe and under the nail does hurt, but you still feel the pulling of the nail when they remove it, it made me feel a little sick so take your time getting up after wards, They don't put real stitches in it just the tape ones. They wrap it really well and you need open toe shoes or the crocs to be able to wear any thing on your feet over the next week, Good luck.
i had to have the same thing done. ok the needle they used on me was pretty long and really hurt. try to tune out the pain if u can, think about other things. once your toe is numb then u will still THINK u feel them cutting but u really wont. after they are done they probably wont stich it up but if they do then u wont feel it cuz the numbness will last for the rest of the day.

    best of luck
i will be honest the injections in both side of the toe hurts a little, you can not feel the rest, iv had this done 2 times on one big toe and once on 1 big toe! they wanted to remove the nail completely but i wouldn't let them! just don't cut them to one side or to low once they heal! you will be fine.x
oh yeah but leaving it there would hurt more!!!!!!!!i had an ingrown nail but it went away somehow i dont know how but it just did..i think it was the salt water from the sea...yeah there were white stuff oozing out after dipping my feet in the sea..
IT HURTS EVEN MORE IF U LET IT STAY. IT WONT HURT AS MUCH BUT IT WILL BE PAINFUL A LITTLE
I wont lie to you.yes. it hurts.

bring some music or something to distract you.
Doctors always try the path that is not surgical. That red area is a swelling that usually comes with an ingrown toenail. I can鈥檛 tell for sure, but I also think you鈥檒l have a surgical removal of ingrown toenail. Don鈥檛 worry- this is not a big operation- it lasts only 1 hour and you are given a local anesthesia The operation is not painful- the most painful part is the injection of the local anesthetic, since injections into toes or fingers are painful due to the tight skin and many nerve endings. The procedure may be very painful if not done correctly! You could always ask to be asleep during the entire process.

The procedure will last less than a hour. The doctor will put nail up and cut along the toe鈥檚 edge, where the skin is growing into the skin and that way remove your nail. Doctor shall maybe use a chemical to prevent the nail from growing back in the same area. Don鈥檛 worry for the toe- another one will grow in a two months period.

You shall need a ride home! After you come home and when local anesthesia abate it might hurt, but if you lift your leg or at least put it at the same high as your sitting/ lying body it should stop. Otherwise use analgetic, which will relieve pain and that must help! I am certain you鈥檒l be given antibiotics in order to reduce possibility of infection. After the surgery you shall have to do the dressing for about two weeks鈥?the stitches shall be removed after 10 days and 2 weeks after the operation you are not supposed to do any strenuous activities or at least limit them. You are not supposed to wear high- heel or uncomfortable shoes. In the future trim your toenails straight across and do not pick or tear at them, since that may increase the possibility of an ingrown toenail again.

I also had Ingrown toenail removal and it is not painful and in a few days you鈥檒l be completely on your feet.

Good luck with your ingrown toenail removal!

I had 2 ingrown toenails removed in the same day, yes you will feel pain but it is mostly psychological, the shot is the most painful, but on the first day and you don't have the medicine yet, it is the worst pain, so get medicine for the pain, Depending on the depth of the toenail they will either stitch it of glue it (They also bandage it pretty tight!)! If you really are that scared ask if they will put you asleep for it or, have your spouse go back and hold your hand!
